It’s been a week we’re fasting in this holy month of Ramadan. Today is the 9th day already. That means, only 2/3 month left before we celebrate Eid. So far, I love this moment of being able to fast home with my lovely family.
Till the 8th day, I only dined at home once, yes, once, only on the very 1st day of Ramadan. I myself was quite surprised when I noticed this fact just now, after I tried to remember where I dined, looking at my coworker’ calendar.
1. Home
2. KLCC Trader’s Hotel (subcon invitation)
3. Big Apple Restaurant (not the donut thing!) @ Berjaya Times Square Hotel (Project team)
4. Saba’ Setiawangsa (with family)
5. De Palma @ Menara PKNS PJ and this one SUCKSSSS (with sweetheart)
6. JW Marriot (with sweetheart)
7. Andaloucia (warong jerr ni with sweetheart)
8. Pak Li kopitiam @ Danau (with family)
So yesterday, I was thinking to spend time buka puasa at home with beloved family after abandoning them for 3 consecutive days. Then suddenly my mom suggested of going to Pak Li as she wanted to give the famous nasi ayam lemon a try.
There you go, for the 7th consecutive days I dined away from home while living with family at home, that was a new record for me.
The best place so far was at KLCC trader’s hotel. The place was stunning, it was simply magnificent. Last year, at Marriot’s poolside I felt rich enough, at KLCC Trader’s I feel 100 times richer. I mean, the place looks so exclusive. Lots of food, including prepared-in-front-of-you sushi, roasted lamb, well I can say that whatever you want is there. For the best damn thing about this one is, I had to pay nothing for all these.
The worst buka puasa so far was the one at De Palma Menara PKNS, for me it was totally SUCKSS! I strongly encourage anybody from going there. Tak pernah aku buka puasa sesedih tu. It was overpriced, not worth even a single cent of the RM40/pax I paid for that fucking buffet.
Tak pernah dalam hidup aku buka puasa buffet habis round dah rase semua makanan. Dah la lauk pauk ngan makanan tak banyak choice, nothing was outstanding. Kambing golek takde pon. Sate pon harammm. Cit poorah baik bayar mahal tapi makan puas.
I wasn’t hesitating to give that buffet a try because it was cheap at RM40/pax, and last year I had a stunning buffet at Concorde Hotel KLIA at the very same price. I really meant it, it was stunning with lots of choices available. Bukan setakat kambing golek, rusa panggang pon ade.
Bukan nak marah sangat, tapi at RM40/pax memang sangat overpriced untuk buffet De Palma Menara PKNS. Sorry laa aku bagi gambaran buruk, dorang memang berhak. Aku rela bayar RM100 tapi puas hati. Ape yg ade? Pucuk ubi masak tempoyak, ayam masak merah, sambal udang petai, daging kicap, pajeri terung, ikan masak lemak cilia pi tu je untuk lauk nasik. Ulam dan sayur ade la 4, 5 jenis lagi. Pastu ade buah sikit, bubur lambuk, bubur kacang durian. Memang fucked up. Baik tambah RM25 pegi makan kat conference room JW Marriot tu.
Because of our disappointment with De Palma PKNS, the very next day since we hang out around Bukit Bintang we decided to splurge, this time at JW Marriot. Tak kesah la bayar lebih dari RM70 pon, asal puas hati. Kalu poolside RM78 kot, kat Conference Room murah sikit, RM60 lebih. Menu same je, tempat je lain. But trust me, it worth every single cent of that price. Everything was magnificent.
Selain pada tu, buka puasa kat tempat2 lain best. Kat Time Square Hotel pon sangat best jugak, semua best dan padan dengan value, kecuali buffet lancau De Palma menara PKNS tu. Fucked it up, a big time one.
So last Sunday, finally it was the send off time, I had to accept that my sweetheart will not be around in KL anymore till early September. Single and available again laa jawabnya wahh gitu hahaha.
