Sans titre: Dream?

Today I want to write about a dream. I have quite a few dreams, things I want and things I want to do. Like having an estate with large grape yard and a villa with a swimming pool so that I can lie naked sunbathing by the pool. Remember this is a private property so there is only me there. Please, don't imagine this or else you will have a sweet dream :)

That is one of my dreams. Not that bad for an intro wasn't it? But in this post I want to talk about another dream. This is most of the boy's dream. About a toy that can be called as 'car'. Soon I'll be graduated, I need to find a job and a reliable car that can hardly kill me.

Since I have been living in France for 5 years, (oh my God this is my 6th year here already!) I might be entitled to apply for an AP. That is not Ayah Pin for sure. My budget is somewhere around RM50k or GBP10k.

With that amount of money, I can barely buy a Myvi SE in Malaysia. But do you know that you can grab a second hand BMW 3 series e90 with only GBP5k in the UK?

What? BMW 3 series? E90? What is e90? Not everybody knows what is e90 and what is e46 and so on. Let me explain you briefly about this. BMW 3 series is a car that has been produced since years ago. Generally the car is called BMW 3 series. But there are generations of 3 series. The latest model, the current one is coded e90. The generation just before is e46, preceded by e36 who succeeded e30.

Tak paham jugak? Let me give you a simple analogy. Imagine the band KRU is BMW 3 series. Let say KRUjaan is their actual album. KRUjaan here is e90. The album just before, TYCO is e46. That is it. E90 is the latest generation 3 series and E46 is the generation just before.

And this is E90(2005-2012). The new generation is expected to be launched next year.

Just like Perodua Myvi, BMW 3 series comes in several trims level. If Perodua has the standard Myvi and the Myvi SE, then BMW has the normal 3 series E90 and 3 series E90 M sport. M sport is BMW's answer to SE. There are Myvi 1.3 and Myvi 1.5. There are also 3 series E90 with 2.0 liter engine, named as BMW 320i or 318i, a variant with 2.5 liter engine named as 325i or 323i and 3.0 liter version baptized as 330i.

Note the difference between a standard 3 series with 3 series M sport. The front and the rear bumpers are the difference.

With GBP5k, only the standard version can be bought. But that is not the end of the world. You can add body kit.For an example, this is a 3 series with body kit. Stunning isn't it? These are the results after having body kits added on the standard version.(at the bumpers and side skirts)

I just can only dream about it now.. The car is cheap, but the tax is the problem. Around that price range (GBP5k) we can dream about having a Lexus IS250, a Golf Volkswagen MK5 or an Audi A4 B7. The latest Golf (MK6) and the latest A4 (B8) are still quite pricey.
